Friday Night Main Street by Michael Anstey
ARTIST NOTES: The bright lights of a country town are fascinating, I love the play of the light against the foliage, signage and buildings. This image evokes memories of road trips around Australia long before motorways and bypasses came into existence. And although driving through small and large country towns slowed your progress it was always interesting to see Town Halls, parks & gardens and more importantly stop at your favourite cafe for a pie or, if financial, fish & chips or a hamburger. No McDonalds or Hungry Jacks in those days.
